This KOA is set in the hills outside the four-season playground town of Boone, at an altitude of nearly 4,000 feet. The grounds offer pleasant mountain views, and are surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. We stayed at this campground on a weeknight in early May. It was quiet and nearly empty.
Like most KOAs we've visited, restrooms were spotless; the staff was friendly as could be; and the on-site washers and dryers were much appreciated.
This campground offers a range of back-in and pullthru sites that can handle any RV. There is a separate row of sites for tenters, and eight cabins.
Nearby Attractions:
This is a convenient stop-off when traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway, about eight miles away. Also in the Boone area are four winter ski areas; Grandfather Mountain; whitewater rafting outfits, shopping outlets and more.
